Yellow/Yellow
The Urge occurs!
I tip-toe to (someone's) flip flops
to trek through the back yard,
to make my exchange with nature.
The rain has rent the grass
into islands, caught between seas;
seems
sandals wasn't a wise choice,
as I step and slosh and
                             SLIP...
(nearly!)
to the barn.
There my eye moves from
yellow liquid to yellow lark;
"I don't know really
what a lark is," I say to myself,
"but I can't recall a canary
quite like this one."
Feet wet, walking back
I wonder, "how long
'til Dad fixes the toilet?"

Winter Haikuwrimo
Frost covered blades,
deer dine in pale light.
Concerto of crunches,
meadow wakes,
sunrise.
Trees dusted,
cold, white carpet -
Winter morning.
Hand thrown seeds
wait for birds
squirrels come.
Icy fingers creep
under doors, through sills
chill finds me.
Moonlight's glow
grass shimmers
illusions of white.
Tree tops sway,
windy day.
Birds sing,
squirrels play,
Spring preview.
Hot or cold
indecisive
Mother Nature.
Round and round
a tree trunk playground
for frisky squirrels.
Clouds race,
trees bow.
Wind is king today.
Sun shines -
a stormy night
forgotten.
Sun shines.
Wind blows.
Still winter in the shade.
Forecast of snow,
a sunny day.
Unpredictable nature.
Scattered sticks,
gifts from the wind.
Cold wind blows.
Sun's warmth flies away.
Finches hop
like skimming stones;
looking for seeds.
Shades of gray,
the sky cries...
Icy tears.
Lone wolf
howling
is the wind.

I haven't been very active but that won't be a continuing trend. With access to PS again, my files from my other computer (that went capoot last October), and coming out of a slump, I hope to update more and comment and contribute more. For example, to :iconthe-haiku-club:. Woo!

I really want this to be a good year for me- we'll see!
